By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – It was a thrilling evening for several young athletes who got a chance to meet Olympic Medalist Kristi Kirshe Tuesday night in a ceremony on the Franklin Town Common. Hundreds turned out to welcome home Kirsch and her Bronze medal. Kirshe said it was “the honor of her life” to represent the US and the Town of Franklin as she plays rugby on the world stage. And she confirmed she will be playing again for Team USA when they compete in the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. Among the well-wishers Tuesday, Representative Jeff Roy presented her with a citation from the state, and brought with him a photo from 2012 when Kirshe was on the Franklin girls soccer team that won the state championship and went to the state house.
