NIPMUC REGION — Nipmuc Regional High School Athletic Director Christopher Schmidt has been named Athletic Director of the Year by the Massachusetts Secondary Schools Athletic Directors’ Association. Schmidt is in his 11th year leading Nipmuc’s athletic program and was selected for the honor for his broad impact on student-athletes and coaches.
School officials say Schmidt, a former social studies teacher and assistant principal, also played a key role in the recent creation of the Central Massachusetts Athletic Conference.
