Local Radio Station Continues Decades-Long Tradition with Exclusive Local Coverage and New Support for Charity Runners
Milford, MA – MyFM 101.3, the closest radio station to the start line of the Boston Marathon in Hopkinton, proudly announces that it will once again broadcast live from the world’s most prestigious road race on Patriots’ Day, Monday, April 21st. This longstanding tradition, dating back nearly 70 years to the station’s origins as WMRC, continues MyFM’s deep-rooted connection to this iconic event.
Leading up to race day, MyFM will feature exclusive interviews with Boston Marathon race officials, representatives from The Hoyt Foundation, Hopkinton town officials, the 26.2 Foundation, and other key figures in the running community. These conversations will provide listeners with behind-the-scenes insights, inspiring stories, and the latest updates on race preparations.
New this year, MyFM 101.3 is excited to open its airwaves and website to local runners participating in the marathon on behalf of charities. This initiative will give these dedicated athletes a platform to share their personal journeys, highlight the causes they are supporting, and help them reach their fundraising goals. MyFM invites charity runners to join the conversation, spread awareness, and inspire the community with their commitment to making a difference.
“As the closest radio station to the starting line in Hopkinton, covering the Boston Marathon has always been a special part of our identity,” said Chris Caraballo, Operations Manager at MyFM 101.3. “This year, we’re taking it a step further by shining a light on local runners who are running for a cause. It’s our way of supporting their efforts and amplifying their message to our listeners.”
In addition, on Marathon Monday, MyFM will be handing out 1,000 FREE Marathon Cheer Cards to support all the participants. Just stop by the MyFM Media Center on the corner of Hayden Rowe and West Main Streets in Hopkinton to pick up a cheer card and show your support for the runners!
Listeners can tune in to MyFM 101.3 on-air, online at MyFMToday.com, and via the MyFM 101.3 LIVE app for comprehensive coverage before, during, and after the race. To participate in MyFM’s charity runner spotlight, interested runners can contact Chris Caraballo at [email protected].
