FRANKLIN – The trial for a Franklin man accused of murdering his ex-wife four years ago has been postponed once more. Attorneys for Brendon Owen were granted a continuance for his trial, which had been scheduled to begin Monday, December 15, according to The Franklin Observer.

Owen has been in jail since December 2021 after investigators alleged he killed Shirley Branco, assaulted her mother, and set fire to the family home. The case has faced multiple delays over the years, including several changes of judges, and no new trial date has been announced.
