Millis PD Social Workers Strengthen Community Support

Last year, the Millis Police Department (MPD) collaborated with Community Impact, Inc., in Milford, to integrate social workers into their response team. These Town Clinicians provide vital community outreach, addressing mental health, substance abuse, domestic violence, homelessness, juvenile/adolescent matters, trauma, elder abuse, and more.

Amy Leone, director of Community Impact, Inc., highlighted their engagement with the community, schools, and various services. In 2023, they had 138 initial encounters and offered critical incident mental health first aid to police, fire, EMS, school personnel, and other town employees.

Services provided encompass basic needs, domestic violence, elder abuse, housing/homelessness, insurance, mental health counseling, school-based counseling, recovery resources, and more.

Those in need of assistance can contact Leone and Masiello through the Millis Police Department or directly via phone or online referral form.
