MILFORD – Milford’s curbside trash and recycling program will officially transition to the Highway Department next week.

Beginning July 1, oversight of the program will move from the Board of Health to the Highway Department, a change town officials announced earlier this month.

Officials say residents should notice little difference, as collection schedules and service procedures will remain unchanged. However, some administrative functions will move to the Highway Department, including obtaining metal collection stickers, which will now be available through the Milford Waste & Recycling Department.

Town leaders say the transition better aligns Milford’s operations with how many other communities manage solid waste services.
