MILFORD – Milford Town Meeting voters approved a $2.75 million settlement tied to a lawsuit filed by a Milford police sergeant alleging gender discrimination and harassment within the Milford Police Department. As part of the agreement, the sergeant is expected to retire in August.
Among the allegations in the lawsuit were claims that she had been repeatedly passed over for promotions. According to the Daily News, Town Meeting voters also approved an additional $50,000 for an independent review of Milford Police Department hiring and promotion practices.
