By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – Milford Police have a new comfort dog on staff. Sgt. Paul Pinto tells the Daily News his new partner Piper is a 1-year-old standard poodle working within the department’s Family Services Unit. He says research has shown comfort dogs have been a game-changer in opening up the relationship between children and the police. He says the standard is a great dog for the job because they are fluffy, which kids love, they’re hypo-allergenic, and they are very smart. Piper has been visiting schools and hospitals.
