MILFORD – Residents from the town of Milford looking to conserve water can now purchase rain barrels at a reduced cost through the Board of Health.

The town remains under a Stage IV Mandatory Outdoor Water Use Ban, which prohibits non-essential outdoor watering. Officials say rain barrels can help reduce water usage, with federal data estimating savings of about 1,300 gallons per year for the average household.

Residents can purchase 55-gallon barrels for $70 through the town program.
