MILFORD – What began as a routine well-being check in Milford turned dangerous Monday evening when a man barricaded himself in a kitchen with a knife and threatened police officers.
Milford Police say 48-year-old Darren Esslinger locked himself inside a Congress Street home before officers were able to de-escalate the situation and safely take him into custody before 7 p.m.
Esslinger faces multiple charges, including assault with intent to murder.
