Medway Water Dept. Reviewing Lines for Lead, Urges Customer Response

By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – The Medway Water Department is continuing to review all city and customer water lines to make sure there is no lead in the system. The Department says they have a long history of replacing lead pipes when encountered and are unaware of any known lead in the system. But as part of a new federal requirement, they are reviewing thousands of records to inventory older water service materials that may contain lead and they do have incomplete records for about 33% of the pipes. They have sent letters to customers with unknown or possible lead-containing services so if you get one, call them.
