Medway Police are closing in on meeting the national police department “30×30 Initiative” which is to have 30% of new recruits be female by 2030. Medway Police say their newest officer is scheduled to graduate from the Randolph Police Academy later this month. That makes 25% of Medway’s recruits since 2016 women and with one more hire in the works they may hit the 30% goal later this year – 7 years ahead of the national goal. Medway Police say they’ve nearly outgrown their women’s locker room.
