Some scary moments at the Southwick Zoo Monday when the Skyfari ride had to be stopped midair. The Mendon Fire Department responded with ladders and a boom lift to help bring down the nearly 40 people who became stranded on the ride when officials tell Channel 5 there was an unexpected mechanical issue that led them to suddenly stop the ride. Skyfari got stuck once three years ago when an oil leak led to a sudden shutdown. Officials have not yet said what this week’s sudden issue was.
