Massachusetts Residents to Receive $50 Rebate on Electric Bills Next Month

Massachusetts – Residents across the state can expect some relief on their electric bills next month. Customers of National Grid and Eversource will receive a $50 rebate as part of an effort by Governor Maura Healey to help offset the high cost of gas and electricity this winter.

Governor Healey announced the rebate last week, acknowledging that while $50 may not fully cover the increased expenses, she believes that “every dollar counts.” The rebate is separate from the recently introduced 10% payment deferral program, which temporarily lowers bills over the next few months but adds those deferred costs to summer bills when energy usage is typically lower.

This rebate comes as Massachusetts residents continue to struggle with rising utility costs during the winter season. State officials hope that even small financial relief measures can ease some of the burden on households.

Customers should see the $50 rebate automatically applied to their electric bills next month, with no need for additional action.
