HOPEDALE – A man is facing charges after police say loud music helped lead to his arrest for alleged drunk driving.

According to Hopedale Police, on Wednesday night an officer patrolling Freedom Street came across a car pulled to the side of the road with its driver hanging out of the door while music blared.

The officer reported that the driver, identified as Jeanderson Pereira of Lynn, had a strong smell of alcohol and later failed a field sobriety test.

Pereira was taken into custody and charged with Operating Under the Influence (OUI) and Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle. He was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled for arraignment this week in Milford District Court.
