Big news from Hopkinton as longtime Town Manager Norman Khumalo has announced he is retiring from his position to take a job in the private sector. Kuhmalo has been in municipal service for more than 30 years including the last 15 as Hopkinton’s Town Manager. Under his watch the Town has had its bond rating rise from AA to AAA and become a certified Green City. He says he plans to stay on until early 2024 to help the Select Board make the transition to a new Town Manager but he has taken a job with sustainable energy company Pattern Energy as their VP of Government Relations.
