HOPKINTON — With the long-running Horribles Parade likely a thing of the past, local political leaders are coming together to chart a new direction for the town’s July 4th celebration.
At this week’s Select Board meeting, the chairs of the Republican and Democratic Town Committees announced they are in agreement that a Horribles Parade is “off the table” moving forward. Instead, they emphasized a shared commitment to positive messaging and a more inclusive community event.
According to the Hopkinton Independent, the committees envision a parade featuring the Veterans Celebration Committee, police and fire departments, local teams, organizations, businesses, and more. Their goal is to create a fresh July 4th tradition that reflects community spirit and broad participation.
Planning for the new-style parade is expected to continue in the coming months.
