By MyFM’s Marissa Santos – MyFM Media is proud to announce that Laura O’Callaghan the President & CEO of the Tri-County Regional Chamber of Commerce has been selected as the recipient of the 2024 MyFM Butch Moore “You Touched Upon My Life” Award.

Laura emigrated to the United States in 1985 from Waterford, Ireland and became an American citizen in 2000. She is a true believer in the phrase “you reap what you sow”. Work hard, be a good person and you will be rewarded!  Laura’s passion is to help others, and she prefers to give rather than receive.

What do her friends and colleagues think of her?  They say she is Spirited, Dedicated, Hilarious, Friendly, Always Smiling, Hard Working, Spitfire, Exuberant, Positive, Resourceful, Kind, Looking out for others, Affable, Amiable, Passionate, Caring, Reliable, Dependable, Joyful to be around, a genuine friend that has your back, Vibrant, Salt of the Earth, Beyond Brilliant, and a Tireless Advocate. For this reason and so many others MyFM is proud to honor Laura with this most prestigious award.

Who was Butch Moore?  Butch was a local singing legend that toured throughout Ireland, Europe, and the United States, initially with The Capitol Showband and later with his wife Maeve as the famed singing duo, Butch and Maeve.  His signature song, “You Touched Upon My Life,” spoke volumes about a man that had touched the lives of so many around him with his music, his smile, his generosity, and his big heart.  With Butch’s passing in early 2001, MyFM Media created this award in his honor.

“We’ve honored some incredible people over the years, but none are more deserving than Laura O’Callghan.  Her commitment to the local business and non-profit community simply goes above and beyond the call of duty, and I’m proud to call her a friend” said Tom McAuliffe President of MyFM Media.

Past recipients of the Butch Moore “You Touched Upon My Life” Award include  Kevin Meehan, Billy Hood, Linda Varney, Judge Francis & Virginia Larkin, Senator Richard T. Moore, Dr. Michael Fitzpatrick, Tony & Virginia Brenna, Chris Morcone, Gina Oliva-Tarolli, Tom McGovern, Paul Surapine, the Kimball Family, the Ellis Family, Justine Brewer, Frank & Wendy Saba, Tony Khoury, John Fernandes, the Tinio Family, Julie Atherton, Jennifer Walsh, Jennifer Ward, and Nate and Erin Moreland, and Tony Gallo.
