By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – Westborough’s Kopin Corp has landed a $6-million order from the U.S. Department of Defense. The company announced Tuesday it’s actually the fourth follow-on order from the DOD for its line of thermal weapon sight eyepiece subassemblies but it will triple their production volume for next year compared to this year. Kopin officials say the eyepiece subassembly lets weapons subcontractors create an augmented reality display, which overlays symbols and information on the real video.
