A world-famous comedian has helped a Westborough nonprofit raise more than a million dollars to help educate the public on early cancer detection. Jay Leno was the headliner for DetecTogether’s Sweet 16 Gala & Auction last month which, combined with a golf tournament, raised about $1.4 million. The Worcester Business Journal reports Leno lost both his parents and his brother to cancer and was happy to perform at the event for DetecTogether whose mission is to help people recognize the warning signs of cancer and to navigate the healthcare system.
