A rescue plan for injured police K9’s was the subject of a special training by the Grafton Fire Department this week. In coordination with Tufts University and Life Flight officials have established a designated landing zone and procedures to support NERO’s law which calls for the emergency care and treatment of police K9’s. On Tuesday GFD participated in a simulated scenario with the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts and were able to establish a designated helicopter landing zone at the hospital.
