By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – A recent assessment done for Hopkinton Senior Services to determine the needs and interests of the older population shows that 19% of the town’s current population is 60 or older but in ten years that will grow to 26%. Town Manager Elaine Lazarus says the assessment found that while this growing population appreciates many aspects of living in Hopkinton, challenges include communication, support for those struggling financially, and opportunities to adapt current housing, downsize, or obtain accessible housing.
