New state school building energy reduction requirements should not affect plans being finalized for Hopkinton’s new Elmwood School building proposal. The Hopkinton Independent reports at this week’s Elementary School Building Committee meeting, the project director said the current design already checks many of these boxes and some of the requirements are not relevant to the project. He says there is a big push toward more electrification of new buildings, a direction toward which Hopkinton already is working.
