Hopkinton Urges Immediate Water Conservation Amid Prolonged Drought and Declining Well Levels

Hopkinton remains under major water use restrictions and the Town’s Water-Sewer Manager is imploring residents to cooperate. In a notice Tuesday Eric Carty says with water use rising, no rain in over two weeks and none in the forecast, groundwater levels continuing to decline and the town’s well capacities decreasing, they are asking everyone to continue to conserve. He says those people that are still running automatic lawn sprinklers despite the restrictions, need to turn them off immediately, as they are jeopardizing the town’s water supply in the prolonged drought conditions.
