HOPKINTON – The Town of Hopkinton is reportedly facing a lawsuit from a woman who claims the town was negligent in allowing the former owner of Hiller’s Pizza to continue operating the business where she says she was assaulted.
According to Boston 10, the lawsuit centers on Petros Sismanis, who in 2023 was convicted of indecent assault and witness intimidation involving a then-16-year-old employee.
The report notes that Sismanis had a prior criminal history dating back to the 1990s, when he was convicted of assaulting workers and was required to register as a sex offender. Court and town records cited by Boston 10 indicate that despite those convictions—and despite additional allegations that reportedly surfaced over the years—the Town of Hopkinton never revoked or disciplined Sismanis’ business license.
The lawsuit alleges the town failed in its duty to protect employees by allowing Sismanis to continue operating the restaurant. Town officials have not publicly commented on the pending legal action.
