By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – Hopkinton is reportedly going to look both outside and inside the Police Department for a new deputy police chief. The job’s been open since last spring when former Deputy Police Chief Jay Porter left amid allegations related to a sexual relationship with a minor from when he had been a school resource officer. The Daily News reports Porter, who has pleaded not guilty, had been promoted after only an internal search but at their meeting last week the Select Board decided to use an assessment center to help.
