Hopkinton School Committee Approves New Graduation Requirements After MCAS Change

With Massachusetts voters opting to do away MCAS scores as a requirement for high school graduation, schools are now having to reevaluate what you need to get a diploma. At their meeting last week, the Hopkinton School Committee approved some requirements. The Hopkinton Independent reports kids must pass 10th grade English; 10th grade math including geometry and Algebra, and one of three laboratory core science classes: biology, chemistry or physics. And a ‘D’ or 60, is a passing grade.
