Hopkinton’s proposed 2024 school budget could be headed for a showdown between the School Committee and Select Board. The Hopkinton Independent reports at their meeting last week, the School Committee and Superintendent said they were surprised the Select Board suddenly asked them to trim the budget by $1.7 million dollars, calling it “arbitrary” and “unviable”.
One Committee member told the Superintendent not to start cutting anything yet, with another suggesting a work session with the Select Board.
