The 2024 school budget process for Hopkinton could take awhile. Just a week after saying they were surprised the Select Board asked them to cut $1.7 million from their proposed budget, the School Committee and Select Board met jointly Thursday.
The Hopkinton Independent reports the Select Board explained some of the town’s financial challenges behind their reason for asking all town departments to keep their 2024 budgets to a 5.1% increase over last year.
The School District is asking for 8.3% more.
