Hopkinton Public Schools Budget Challenges Ahead

By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – About 14% of Hopkinton Public Schools students are reportedly receiving some form of Special Education services, up about 2% from four years ago. The Hopkinton Independent reports that was the number presented by Superintendent Carol Cavanaugh to the School Committee at their meeting last week. She reportedly cautioned that it’s going to be a “tricky year” for budgeting with looming contract negotiations for custodians, nurses and teachers on top of cost-of-living increases.
