By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – The Hopkinton Public Library has been awarded a $6,000 Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners’ Preservation Assessment Grant aimed at helping libraries preserve irreplaceable local records important to a community’s history. Library Director Nanci Hill says the grant will be used to bring in a qualified preservation assessor to see Hopkinton’s Local History Collection and assess preservation needs such as building conditions and environmental controls and learn how to apply for grants towards upgrading those.
