HOPKINTON – The Hopkinton Police Department has been granted full accreditation from the Massachusetts Police Accreditation Commission.
Accreditation is a voluntary process that requires meeting, or exceeding, nearly 300 mandatory standards and nearly 100 optional standards that are then rigorously reviewed by the state. They include areas such as management, emergency response planning, technical support, prisoner holding, communication, evidence handling, use of force, and vehicle pursuit policies.
