By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – The Hopkinton Police Department says they’ve hired five new officers. Chief Joseph Bennet says they got more than 30 applicants for new officer positions and the five were hired after multiple rounds of interviews and tests. He says they will continue to recruit and interview new applicants and hope to fill their ranks in 2025. The five come from police academies in Fitchburg, Randolph and Boylston. They will now have to complete 12 weeks of field training as well as special Boston Marathon procedures.
