HOPKINTON – With drought conditions still affecting the region, officials in Hopkinton are beginning to plan for increased water demand this summer.

The town currently prohibits all non-essential outdoor water use. At a recent Select Board meeting, members discussed how that restriction might apply when residents begin filling swimming pools.

According to the Hopkinton Independent, some officials suggested seeking input from the Water and Sewer Advisory Board before determining how the policy will be enforced.
