Some Hopkinton police officers were reportedly assaulted in two different OUI-related incidents last weekend. Deputy Police Chief Scott van Raalten tells the Hopkinton Independent in one case officers responded to a crash Friday on West Main in which a man being arrested on suspicion of OUI was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon involving the officers, although he did not say what the weapon was. Then, van Raalten says, early Sunday morning a Medway man being booked for OUI slugged one of the officers and damaged a breathalyzer. No one was seriously hurt.
