By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – Hopkinton has a new deputy police chief. Police Chief Joseph Bennett has officially appointed Lt. Scott van Raalten to be Deputy Chief although as the Hopkinton Independent reports van Raalten had pretty much been performing the duties since August 2022 when former Deputy Chief John “Jay” Porter was let go amidst alleged criminal accusations. Meanwhile the Select Board has approved three new police officers which reportedly brings the Hopkinton Police Department roster to 28.
