HOPKINTON – A Hopkinton man is facing Attempted Murder and other charges following a confrontation Wednesday night at Sandy Beach on Lake Maspenock. According to Deputy Police Chief Scott van Raalten, Steven Dana was arrested after an altercation with another man reportedly stemming from a dispute over use of the lake’s boat ramp.

Investigators allege the fight escalated to the point where Dana held the other man’s head underwater until witnesses intervened and pulled the two apart. The boat ramp, which sits on the Hopkinton-Milford town line, is restricted to Hopkinton residents between Memorial Day and Labor Day. The incident remains under investigation.
