Hopkinton is launching their new group electricity buying program called Hopkinton Power Choice in September. The Town says they’ve signed a contract with Direct Energy to provide 24 months of stable electricity prices as well as what they call cleaner electricity for residents and business. Hopkinton joins about 200 other Massachusetts cities and towns that are doing these aggregation programs. Participation is not required. The town is holding two meetings to explain it all on July 16 at 2:30pm at the Hopkinton Senior Center and 6pm at the Hopkinton Public Library.
