By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – You cannot water your lawn in Hopkinton until further notice. On Tuesday the Director of Public Works declared a mandatory conservation ban which requires all residents on the municipal water system to turn off lawn sprinklers to help preserve the town water supplies for essential daily needs and fire protection. Last week the Town warned this might happen saying due to the lack of significant rainfall, groundwater levels have dropped and the aquifer is recharging more slowly so there is less water being produced.
