The Hopkinton Water Department says they are currently investigating the cause for some periodic water discoloration that appears to be more prevalent when the Alprilla Farm wells are in operation. Officials say crews are flushing hydrants in the vicinity to help clear the lines. As a result, they have put their system status at “Yellow” on the three-tiered Green / Yellow / Red system status they started over the summer. Yellow means there is a potential for an issue but they have not yet found a definitive problem.
