Hopkinton Health Director Targets Youth Vaping with New Measures

By MyFM’s Claire Beverly – Hopkinton’s Health Director is taking aim at vaping among kids. At Monday’s Health Department meeting, Shaun McAuliffe laid out goals for the next fiscal year and said tobacco use is high on the list. The Hopkinton Independent reports McAuliffe says nicotine use by teens has been expanding into the middle school ages and he’s looking at ways to restrict access as well as increase education efforts. He said a similar focus at the high school level from 2017 to 2021 saw usage drop from 40% to nearly 10%.
