Hopkinton Fire Chief Gary Daugherty says the Fire Department has been awarded a nearly $19,000 grant from the Mass. Executive Office of Public Safety and Security and the Department of Fire Services. The Chief says the money will go toward replacing two aging thermal imaging cameras and three ice rescue suits, which have been in service for over 20 years. The Town Manager says the fire department would not have been able to receive the grant if the MBTA Communities zoning provisions had not been adopted by the Town at last November’s Special Town Meeting.
