A Hopkinton man has been sentenced to a year-and-a-half in federal prison for tax and insurance fraud. The US Attorneys’ Office says Dariusz Pietron who owned and operated TJM Construction and Point Construction was sentenced last week to charges for which he pleaded guilty last May. Investigators say he defrauded the IRS and Travelers Insurance Company by more than $1.2 million by not reporting wages, failing to withhold and pay employment taxes and not telling Travelers about the actual wages he paid to employees which meant he was cheating them on workers comp premiums.
