Hopedale has a Special Town Election today on a debt exclusion for a new roof for the Junior/Senior High School. At a Special Town Meeting in the Fall voters unanimously approved putting the debt exclusion on a ballot for today. The Town Administrator said in a statement yesterday this would be a 20-year term-limited debt exclusion for $4.1 million toward a total of $5.9 million to replace the aging roof before it fails and costs even more. He says if the vote passes it will cost the average property owner about $108 a year. If it fails, they will still do the roof but there will have to be town cuts to afford it.
