HOPEDALE – Hopedale’s Special Town Meeting takes place tonight at the Hopedale Community House, where residents will vote on a range of articles affecting town finances, governance, and local facilities. Items up for consideration include a cost-of-living increase for the Veterans Tax Abatement, establishing a retirement benefit fund for town employees, and funding repairs to the Little Red Shop Museum.

One high-profile warrant article asks voters whether to expand the Hopedale Select Board from three to five members. The proposal comes from a citizen’s petition, and the petitioner tells the Daily News she believes a larger board would help make town leadership more representative of the community as a whole.
