Holliston Warns Residents About Fake Zoning and Planning Board Emails

HOLLISTON – The Town of Holliston is alerting residents and applicants to an email scam impersonating the Zoning and Planning Boards. The fraudulent messages request additional permit fees and instruct recipients to pay electronically or by credit card.

Town officials say this is an easy scam to identify because Holliston Boards only accept checks or cash for permit fees, never electronic or card payments. They also note that the emails do not come from an official Town of Holliston email address, another clear red flag.

Anyone who receives a suspicious message is urged not to respond or send payment, and to contact Town Hall directly if they have questions about a legitimate permit.
