GRAFTON – The Grafton Select Board has voted to lower the town’s fiscal year 2026 tax rate to $13.69 per $1,000 of assessed value, a 25-cent decrease from the current rate.
However, officials note that while the rate is going down, property values have increased, meaning most residents will still see higher tax bills.
According to the Community Advocate, the average single-family home in Grafton is now valued at about $663,699, resulting in an average tax bill of just over $9,000 — an increase of roughly $363 from last year.
The board also voted against a small business tax exemption, opting to keep the same rate structure for all property classes.
