Grafton Firefighters Rescue Dog from North Main Street Blaze

GRAFTON – A dog is safe after Grafton Firefighters rescued it from a burning home on North Main Street Friday morning.

Neighbors reported hearing smoke alarms and seeing smoke pouring from a window before calling for help. More than 25 firefighters responded with four engines, a tanker, and additional support units to battle the blaze, which began in the kitchen of a second-floor apartment.

Firefighters were able to quickly knock down the flames, preventing the fire from spreading beyond the kitchen. The dog was rescued by firefighters using a ladder.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
