HOPKINTON – The Hopkinton Senior Center now has a new bookshelf dedicated to dementia resources, thanks to the efforts of four local Girl Scouts.
The scouts from Troop 62710 built and installed the shelving as part of their Silver Award project. A spokesperson told the Hopkinton Independent that the girls approached Senior Center staff to ask what was needed, and the idea of a dementia resource center was suggested.
The Silver Award requires scouts to complete a lasting project that benefits the community. In addition to building the bookshelf, the scouts also took Dementia Friends training.
