MILFORD — Woodland Elementary School was briefly evacuated Monday morning after a gas line was accidentally damaged.
Police and firefighters responded around 10:40 a.m. after a snow removal crew struck a gas line connected to the building’s emergency generator. Students and staff were safely evacuated while Eversource crews and town officials worked to repair the line.
School officials brought in buses to provide a warm place for students and teachers while firefighters monitored air quality inside the building. Students were allowed back into the school about 30 minutes later. Authorities say no one was injured or became ill.
